PPCC student to appear on 'American Idol' on Wednesday
Pikes Peak Community College freshman Sean Hale will use up a bit of his 15 minutes of fame Wednesday when he appears on "American Idol."
He’ll appear on the popular singing competition at 7 p.m. Wednesday on KXRM/Channel 21.
He’s not actually sure how much airtime he’ll get.
“I don’t know if they’ll air the whole song or just a part of it,” said Hale, who’s studying music and PPCC.
He sang Marvin Gaye’s classic "I Heard it Through the Grapevine."
“I picked the song because it shows my whole personality, and it’s a really upbeat song,” he said.
Hale had auditioned in July at "American Idol" auditions at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
He made it through three rounds with the celebrity judges, he said.
“I wasn’t scared,” he said. “Really, I was very excited. … it’s encouraged me to keep going. Definitely. For me, I don’t give up, especially when it comes to music.”
It’s rare for reality show contestants to reveal outcomes before their shows have aired. But Hale said none of the producers asked him to stay silent about it.
