Gold: “The 39 Steps”

This unlikely adaptation of the Hitchcock classic generated a lot of positive buzz during its run. Critics agreed. The Gazette’s Warren Epstein called the production “spit-your-wine-out funny,” adding that it was “performed with such flair and timing that it stands as one of the funniest productions TheatreWorks has produced in years.”
