Wacky weather day: tornadoes, rain, and a buttload of snow coming

THE GAZETTE
Depending on where you live in Colorado, you can expect heavy snow, severe thunderstorms or even a tornado this afternoon.
WTF?
Tornado warnings were issued early this afternoon for areas north and east of Colorado Springs. Meanwhile, in the central and northern mountains, a snowstorm was expected to dump up to 2 feet of snow by Saturday morning. Seriously. After the weak ski season for Summit County, the big snow is finally coming.
Too late for most. Only four resorts are open.
For the Springs, where I’ve been watching storm clouds build and head harmlessly to the west all day, it means rain, overcast skies and temperatures in the low 50s Friday and Saturday, warming to 61 Sunday.
A-Basin this weekend, anyone?
