Want to give the chef in your family a day off for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Several local restaurants will be open with special holiday dinners. Here's a sampling:

• Cheyenne Mountain Resort, 3225 Broadmoor Valley Road, will have buffets in the Mountain View Restaurant on Christmas Eve 6-10 p.m. Cost is $39 for adults; $19 for kids 9 to 12; and kids under 8 eat free.
