Today, 80,000 to 150,000 people turn out for this celebration of Old Colorado City’s status as first capital of the Colorado Territory in 1861. History aside, there’s a lot to do during the Memorial Day event created in 1975, including browsing the rows of arts and crafts vendors, noshing on the street food or dancing to the array of musical acts.
