“Satisfaction: The International Rolling Stones Show” play March 9

GUEST COLUMN: Stargazers salutes some of the greatest bands of all time

Special to The Gazette

The driving goal and mission statement of Stargazers Theatre and Event Center is to bring great entertainment to great audiences and to be a warm and welcoming gathering place for the community.

Focusing on that mission statement, Stargazers Theatre, which opened in February 2009, has been the site for over 600 live music concerts showcasing local, regional, national and international artists performing a wide variety of genres and over 120 community events, including fund raisers, independent film screenings, film festivals, trade shows, job fairs and political events.

Some of that “Great Entertainment” comes in the form of Classic Rock and Roll Tribute Shows, and some of the best of those are coming to Stargazers to entertain “Great Audiences”   in the next several months:

“Yesterday: A Tribute to The Beatles”
8 p.m. Feb. 16
Tickets $20, $25 day of show
This is a return engagement of this internationally touring Fab Four tribute band.  They cover all stages of the Beatles career, complete with costume changes and authentic video backdrops on the big screen. “Yesterday’s” last visit to Stargazers had audience members dancing in the aisles, enthusiastically singing along and grinning from ear to ear. It’s a great event to attend on Valentine’s weekend. As the Beatles themselves said, “All you need is love.”  That and a fun night with a great tribute band that brings back great memories.

“Zoso: A Led Zeppelin Tribute”
8 p.m. Feb. 23
Tickets $20, $25 day of show
Each member of this tribute band was specifically selected to accurately portray the original members of Led Zepplin, visually and musically. Zoso has been awarded the Best Tribute Act in California by Rock City News, so these talented musicians are obviously up to the task. Their show is complete with authentic instruments and costumes from the ‘70’s, including low rise bell bottoms and shirts unbuttoned down to there. Zoso effortlessly recreates the feel and sound of this very unique band with bull’s eye accuracy.

“Satisfaction: The International Rolling Stones Show”
8 p.m. March 9
Tickets:  $15, $20 day of show
This band pays a spot-on tribute to one of the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands. Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Rolling Stones, the members of this tribute band have honed their skills to bring you these rock ‘n’ rollers - complete with the lips, the hips, the strut and the attitude. If you love the Stones, you will definitely be feeling some “Satisfaction” at this show.
