Anagrams tournament Saturday to raise funds for PILLAR
“Fighting Words” will provide residents of the Pikes Peak Region with an opportunity to compete in an anagrams tournament and earn money for a good cause. The December 1 fund raising event will be held from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon at the Country Club Corners Event Center, 182 E. Cheyenne Mt. Blvd. Proceeds will benefit PILLAR Institute for Lifelong Learning.
Entry fees range from $25 for individuals to $40 for teams; a $10 donation is suggested for supporters. Two person teams or intergenerational teams (must differ in age by 20 years) may compete, as well as individuals. Anagrams will become progressively more difficult with each round, with the final round presenting 7-letter anagrams.
“Fighting Words” participants must register by calling PILLAR at 633-4991.
“An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging letters of other words,” says PILLAR executive director, Dave Rich. “We expect to attract wordsmiths of all ages to this spirited competition. The tournament is part of the IndyGive Campaign and follows PILLAR’s purpose of providing intellectually stimulating activity for the benefit of the community.”
