ANITA'S PICK: IMAX midnight opening of 'Skyfall'
The fist-fights. The gadgets. The one-liners. The car chases. This was a typical Saturday afternoon with my dad. Well, Dad and James Bond. Daniel Craig's Bond will never replace Sean Connery in my heart. But even Dad has to admit the 007 franchise is better without all the silly dialog and formulaic style that fueled our love for the series. And after hearing that "Skyfall" could be the best in the 50-year run, I may have to reconsider my love affair with the older films. Oscar buzz has started even before its U.S. release on Nov. 9. I'm going to do it up big just like Dad would at the IMAX and see the midnight screening Wednesday at Cinemark Carefree Circle, 3305 Cinema Point. Tickets are $11.75 or $9.25 for children and seniors. Call 596-2173 or go to cinemark.com/theatre-301 for details. For other theaters and showtimes go to coloradosprings.com/movies.
