MEDIA BUZZ: Cumulus GM stepping down

Amid a flurry of layoffs, the man handing out pink slips gave himself one. Mike Knar has left his position as general/marketing manager at Cumulus Media, the owner of six radio stations in Colorado Springs.

 “I wish the staff that I’ve managed for the last five years the best,” said Knar in an email. “They are a hard working and charging group of broadcasters that cares about this city and their profession. I am going to spend some precious time with my wife Lori and family as we continue to care for my 8 year old son, Aden, who has been battling Leukemia for the last few years.” 

There is no word yet on Knar’s replacement or if this will have any affect on Cumulus’s local programming.
