AROUND TOWN: Opera Theatre gathering at Western Jubilee
OPERA THEATRE OF THE ROCKIES ‘UNDER COLORADO SKIES - A SUNSET SERENADE’
Martile Rowland invited guests to dress in comfy Western duds and gather at Western Jubilee Warehouse Aug. 25 for fun, food, fundraising and the introduction to the 2012 season which will include “La Traviata” and “A Little Night Music.”
Pati Burleson's Margarita food, especially Eric Viedt's paella, was a highlight, along with musical entertainment.
A silent auction table, manned by the Opera League volunteers, featured a variety of special treats. But the mind-blower was Collette Divine's gorgeous jewelry. An opera singer, Collette has been a jewelry designer for 50 years and her one-of-a-kind turquoise and silver pieces were "to die for," said one attendee.
An added highlight for the evening was an opportunity to look at host Scott O'Malley's Western and country music memorabilia and antiques. I mean, who else has a Hoot Gibson truck?
