Tin Roof musical adaptation of Austin's 'Sense and Sensibility' opens Dec. 2
I just took a look at the trailer for Tin Roof's production of "Sense and Sensibility." This musical production of the Jane Austen classic opens Dec. 2 and runs through Dec. 18 at the First United Methodist Theater, 420 N. Nevada Ave. Tickets are $12–$15.
One word: Wow. The trailer was MTV slick but thoughtful, if you can imagine that. As usual, I was struck by the detail and execution of Heather Clark's costumes. And singer-songwriter Jessamine Hamer lush and lonely ballad worthy of humming on your way to the car.
I'm impressed -- and hopeful that they can translate that professional je ne sais quoi to the stage. Kudos to Karen Burnett Hamer, artistic director and founder.
