Best of the Springs 2012: Actor
Gold: Jeff Miller
This year, Miller cemented his place as a powerful local player with Springs Ensemble Theatre’s production of “Coronado.” Nuanced and intense, Miller carved out the character of playwright Dennis LeHane’s imagining.
Silver: Kaleb Kohart
No bronze
Expert pick
Christopher Lowell
There was a lot of competition for this category this year, but it was hard to top the work of Lowell, who yearned, connived, condemned and finally collapsed under the weight of his deeds as Shylock in TheatreWorks’ production of “The Merchant of Venice.” The veteran actor, who many know best for his portrayal of Benjamin Franklin, was fearless, fiercely making the role his own.
