Lord have mercy. Where did this chick come from? The first time you hear ZZ Ward's "Put the Gun Down," I dare you not to crank the volume and perform unspeakable acts of jamming out in the car for all to see. Her sound comes about as close to Adele as any woman today can -- with a healthy dash of Christina Aguilera attitude. If you miss Ward's unique blend of blues, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and neo-soul this time around (and on the cheap), you will only have yourself to blame when she hits it big. See her with A Silent Film, Yellow Red Sparks and Capital Cities at 8 p.m. Sunday at The Black Sheep, 2106 E. Platte Ave. Check out her music at zzward.com/music. Details: $10-$12; 227-7625, blacksheeprocks.com.
