TRACY'S PICK: "Die Fledermaus"

tracy@coloradosprings.com

You gotta love a farce, especially in the dead of winter. This Johann Strauss II’s operetta, which was based on a German farce and French vaudeville play, conjures all the froth and silliness of the first beautiful day of spring. The story has it all: an eight-day prison sentence, a fancy ball, lovers serenaded and mistaken identity. The Opera Theatre of the Rockies production runs 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pikes Peak Center, 190 S. Cascade Ave. Tickets are $35-$65, $15 students; 799-4139, pikespeakcenter.com.
