THE GAZETTE
“30 Days of Night” (2007) — Continuing in the vein of sleeper vampire movies, I have to gush about this thrilling, modern B movie. Based on a popular comic book, the film is set in a remote town in Alaska, where a shipwrecked band of vampires discovers that a town that lives through a month of darkness is essentially one long midnight buffet.
What makes the film worth your time is the depiction of the vampires. They’re like old-school Nosferatu creatures: pale, with pointy teeth and fiercely intelligent. They’re horrifying and fascinating to watch.
